Studio Time, Studio Time...and more studio time
Quiet Storm is actively pursuing audio books. Since, my background is in radio and voiceover work, I headed off to the studio to record. I'm pleased to say, I haven't entirely lost my skills in the booth. We recorded 25 pages in 3 hours and then spent an hour editing it, mixing it down and getting it ready for both mp3 and Redbook CD production. Its quite an investment of time, but the end product is going to be pretty good, I think...Of course, I'm essentially praising myself, not sure how detached I'm being :) Now, we have to see what happens with the final production.Sales will determine the future of Audiobooks with Quiet Storm. They take a lot more time to create and more money. Creating and stocking audiobooks essentially costs 10 times what formatting and stocking a hardcover book. Now, the upside is that once the up front cost is paid for, buying more copies is less expensive, much less.
